Thousands of road users will come across your vehicles, and it may well be the first time they’ve heard of your company. It’s very difficult to change a reputation once it’s been established, so it’s worth making sure you’re making a positive first impression.

WHAT DOES YOUR FLEET BRANDING SAY ABOUT YOU?

Vehicle Presentation
Having high quality graphics not only acts as brilliant advertising whilst out on the road, it also helps people form a positive opinion of your brand. Definitely make sure your logo and contact details are clearly visible, and also make sure it’s obvious what kind of work you do.  Your vehicles also need to be looked after. Damaged and dirty vehicles give an impression of a company that maybe isn’t doing so well, or that you just don’t care. So make sure dents are repaired, and the vehicle is in a relatively clean state.

Type of Vehicle
The vehicles that make up your fleet say a lot about the kind of company you are. You wouldn’t send your top salesman out in a 10 year old Corsa. Your vehicles should reflect your business and the type of clientele you work for.  Some companies with green brand values are starting to adopt more eco friendly fleets. This is not only good for the environment, but also great for their reputation. Is this something you should think about?

Staff Uniform
You don’t just need to worry about the way your vehicle looks, but also your staff. If your drivers are going to be doing anything customer facing, they need to be trained in how to properly represent the company. This means having a professional manner, whilst being courteous and friendly.  They should also have a uniform or dress code, even if it is just a high-vis jacket with a logo on. It makes you appear more professional, and the public are more likely to trust someone wearing uniform.

How the Vehicle is Driven
If your vehicles are going to be clearly branded, then you really need your drivers to behave themselves whilst driving.

If your huge moving advert is weaving in and out, cutting up everyone on the ring road, then it will affect your reputation.  “How am I Driving?” bumper stickers have become popular with a few companies, with a phone number to report back. Even better, if you have vehicle tracking or a vehicle camera system you can watch the action yourself.   If you need any advice on how to more effectively manage your fleet, don’t hesitate to call us on 0208 402 2350.
