More and more vehicles are having dash cams installed, and with good reason. “Crash for Cash” fraudulent insurance claims are on the rise. So much so that they now cost insurance companies an estimated £1billion per year. These 4 videos might just make you consider getting a dash cams installed in your company vehicles.

VIDEO 1

1. This video shows a car pulling a caravan trying to overtake a lorry. Unfortunately the car driver slightly misjudges the length of his vehicle and his caravan pays the ultimate price. Luckily the lorry drivers dash cam caught it all and showed he wasn’t to blame.

VIDEO 2

2. This video shows an HGV Driver who just isn’t aware of his surroundings. He tries to change lanes suddenly when he spots a vehicle parked on the hard shoulder, but doesn’t see the van along side him. It’s a close call, and luckily no one was seriously hurt. The camera catches the whole incident, and provides valuable evidence for who was to blame.

3. This video is a perfect demonstration of a popular ‘Crash for Cash’ technique where a driver slows down suddenly causing the vehicle behind to rear-end them. It’s difficult to argue that you aren’t to blame if you go into the back of someone, unless you have a video to prove it.

4. This last video shows a classic road rage situation. The vehicle with the camera and the orange Vauxhall are traveling in convoy. An impatient Audi driver tries to overtake using the right turn lane and the Vauxhall is too stubborn to let him pass. What follows is an epic battle of egos where really, no one wins. Who do you think is to blame?
