The people you need to track are given a very small discreet unit that can be kept in their pocket or into a case they can wear. This device sends signals every 5 minutes that can be tracked on custom made web application. A motion sensor is incorporated so that you only get information when the unit is moving thereby increasing battery life. Alerts can be set up within the software to show alarm conditions on screen, text message and/or email.
